Groundbreaking for Dakota DeCaza

South Dakota Magazine | Filed by Bernie Hunhoff at 7:26 am

aerial.jpg Dave Tunge, who often contributes top-notch aerial photography to our web site and magazine, flew over my farm the other day and shot this picture, which shows the nearby Dakota DeCaza development in the foreground (see last Thursday's post). Dakota DeCaza is a planned housing community for people who own horses. They'll share the big barn, which is already framed-up. This is what you call a South Dakota gated community; the gates are to keep the horses in ... not the neighbors out. The developers, Dean and Cynthia Farley of Alcester, are having a groundbreaking at 10 a.m. April 24 if you're looking for some free refreshments or a place to tie your horse.

It's seven miles north of Yankton along Highway 81.

  1. Maybe you can start one for old retired farmers who want a safe place to park their old tractors and a short oval to ‘exercise’ them now and then.
