Christmas at the Capitol began November 22nd and will run through December 26th. This year's theme is "Starlit Wonderland." These photos of the 2010 display were taken by South Dakota Magazine editor Bernie Hunhoff. A gallery of the 2008 display can be viewed here.

The theme for the 2010 display was "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow." The tree adorned with the large "100" was decorated by the South Dakota State Historical Society. -
The display featured almost 100 trees decorated by businesses, nonprofit organizations, communities and government offices throughout our state. -
The tree pictured here symbolized Claremont's 125th anniversary celebration held in July 2010. -
Framed photos and a cowboy hat adorned this tree decorated by Greendale Farms Quarter Horses located in Astoria. -
Children are invited to attend Christmas story time at the North Pole Station on the ground floor of the Capitol.
