Weekend Web Roundup
Jan 4, 2013
The holiday season is over, but the new year's fun is just beginning. Here's a few ideas and stories to enliven your weekend.
- There’s dirty work afoot at the Washington Pavilion. Fiendish knitters plan to meet in downtown Sioux Falls to “yarn bomb” the place on the first Friday of every month from now until April. Swing by the Pavilion tonight from 5-8 and see what they’re up to. While you’re downtown, explore the city’s other First Friday activities, including an artist reception for Mel Spinar at the Ipso Gallery starting at 6.
- 40 years after the flood, a Rapid City woman has been reunited with a piece of her past. South Dakota Magazine played a very small part, but the real credit goes to a clever Rapid City librarian and a thoughtful man with a lot of patience.
- Enough snow for you? Snowshoe walks are scheduled this weekend at Oakwood Lakes State Park and on the Mickelson Trail, but the Outdoor Campus in Sioux Falls just doesn’t have enough. Instead, staff shared their favorite wintry memories in a recent blog post.
- Watch for Bernie Hunhoff and John Andrews on KELO this Sunday night at 10:30 on Inside Keloland. The publisher and managing editor of South Dakota Magazine will talk about our new book, South Dakota Outlaws and Scofflaws, and other fun bits of South Dakotiana.
