Feed Your Mind "History of Education in Yankton"- Yankton

Amanda Blaha, social studies teacher at the Yankton Middle School, will be presenting "150th Anniversary of the Dakota Territory’s First Public High School: History of Education in Yankton" on July 11th at noon. This informational event celebrates Yankton’s commitment to education- from its earliest schools to today! Her Feed Your Mind presentation will share details of the development and achievements of Dakota Territory's first public school system.
There is a free-will donation to attend. The one-hour event will be held on the second floor of the Mead Building, 82 Mickelson Drive, Yankton, SD 57078.
In addition to this featured topic, the Mead Museum has an exhibit focusing on YSD's 150th anniversary with historic photos and artifacts. And Children 0-17 get free admission this summer.
The Museum is open 7 days a week. Monday-Friday 10 am to 5pm and Saturdays/Sundays from 1-5pm.
