The first picture at Oahe Chapel reminds me of where I went to school and church for many years in Jerauld Co. It was about 4 miles east on Hwy 34 from the junction with Hwy 45 or about 8 miles NE of Gann Valley. It was the Longfellow country school. It was closed because there was only one other student and myself left to attend there. Later when the Spring Valley Heuterite Colony was established south of the school they moved the school house south to the colony. Thank for all the good articles you do. I appreciate the SD magazine.
